Jim, another beautiful post, this one really needed to be said. I am totally astonished at the current trend of people to fall into ideas that are destined to cause them great harm. This is now true on all parts of the political spectrum. I remember seeing a list of dozens of radio preachers who had railed against vaccines, until their voices were forever stilled by death from COVID. The horror of the stories from friends in medicine about patients begging to be given the vaccine. The nurses had to be trained how to tell them, "Sorry it's too late now". I will stop here. Bless you Jim.
I'm not sure what subliminal communication transpired between us yesterday when we passed each other on the bike lane, but almost immediately I changed course and went to the pharmacy to get my COVID booster shot. Chance encounter? I wonder.
Good God, how did I get on this list? I guess with enough blind faith you can justify just about anything-like vaccines are good, herd immunity is a thing, measles will kill you, and "The Science" or is that Dr Fauci now?
Instead of following the path of name-calling that passes for public discourse in our culture, how about we aim for understanding: 1) How did you come to your view? Have you always felt that way, or was there some trigger that changed things for you? 2) What kind of evidence would make you change your mind?

Wow. I didn't know I have that kind of power over bikers! I'd better be careful what I think when people go speeding past me!
